Central Air Installation
Adding ducted cooling as part of a renovation.
Heating and cooling projects involve more than setting a unit. Design, permits, electrical and gas work, ductwork and inspections all have to come together. We take responsibility for the full scope.

A project changes how your home is heated, cooled and ventilated for years, and it often touches parts of the house beyond the mechanical room. The contractor you choose should be able to design the system, coordinate the work and prove it performs as intended.
Design comes first. A load calculation determines how much heating and cooling each room needs, based on the construction, windows, insulation and orientation of the home. Equipment is selected from that calculation, and duct design follows so each room receives the airflow it needs. Skipping these steps is a common reason new systems underperform.
A system is only as good as its design. Equipment chosen without a load calculation is an educated guess at best.
Projects frequently involve other trades. New equipment may need electrical circuits, gas piping changes, condensate drainage or structural support. Additions and remodels may require new duct routes through framing that is also being used by plumbers and electricians. We coordinate with your general contractor or other trades so the mechanical work fits into the schedule and does not conflict with other systems.
Permits protect you. Most mechanical work requires a permit, and inspections provide an independent check that the installation meets code. We file the necessary permits, schedule inspections and address any items the inspector raises. You receive documentation when the project is complete.
Communication keeps projects on track. You should know who is leading the job, when work will happen, what could change the schedule and how questions will be answered. Written proposals describe the scope in detail, including equipment, duct changes, electrical and gas work, permits and exclusions, so there are no surprises later.
Commissioning closes the project. We measure airflow, static pressure, refrigerant charge, temperature rise or drop, and combustion performance where applicable. Those readings are compared to design and manufacturer specifications, and adjustments are made until the system performs as intended.
Our services cover residential replacements, new systems for additions, conversions between fuel types, and light commercial work. Whether you need a straightforward replacement like our Furnace Replacement service or a larger renovation, the same process applies.
Ventilation deserves attention in modern projects. Tighter construction and renovations that seal older homes can reduce the natural air exchange that once happened through leaks. Depending on the project and local requirements, mechanical ventilation, bathroom and kitchen exhaust or balanced ventilation equipment may be part of the design. We review those needs alongside heating and cooling so the finished home stays comfortable and healthy.
We are licensed, bonded and insured, and our labor is backed by a written warranty. Third-party financing is available for qualified projects, subject to credit approval.
These situations benefit from design, coordination and permitting rather than a simple swap.
New space needs heating and cooling that fits the existing system or a separate one.
Moving walls and rooms often means rerouting ductwork and registers.
Switching between gas, electric and heat pump systems changes infrastructure.
Replacing heating and cooling together is an opportunity to correct design issues.
Small offices and retail spaces have their own code and scheduling needs.
Mechanical permits and inspections are best handled by the installing contractor.
Each project follows a clear sequence from design to documentation.
We review the property, existing systems and your project goals.
Room loads, equipment selection and duct design are completed.
Scope, equipment, trade coordination, permits and exclusions are written out.
Permits are filed and work is scheduled with other trades.
Equipment, ductwork, controls and connections are installed to code.
Performance is measured, inspections are completed and documents are delivered.
Project scope depends on design choices and site conditions.
| Project type | Additions and conversions involve more design and coordination than replacements. |
|---|---|
| Duct changes | New or rerouted ductwork significantly affects scope. |
| Electrical and gas work | New circuits or gas lines may be required. |
| Equipment selection | Efficiency level, staging and system type affect cost. |
| Schedule coordination | Working alongside other trades requires careful sequencing. |
Our addition needed its own zone. They designed it, worked around the framers and electricians and passed inspection the first time.
The proposal spelled out everything, including what was not included. There were no surprises when the invoice came.
Most jurisdictions require a mechanical permit for equipment installation and significant duct or gas work. We handle permits and inspections for our projects.
Yes. We coordinate schedules and routing with general contractors and other trades during remodels and additions.
We calculate the load for the new space and evaluate whether the existing system can serve it or whether a separate system is better.
Equipment details, duct work, electrical and gas changes, permits, warranty terms, exclusions and a clear price.
Yes. We work on small offices, retail spaces and similar buildings, scheduling work to limit disruption.
Often, yes. A conversion involves evaluating the heating load, electrical capacity, duct airflow and backup heat strategy. We explain what your home would need before you commit.
We measure airflow, pressures, temperatures and combustion performance where applicable, then compare the results to design and manufacturer specifications.
Call to discuss your project. We will visit the site, design the system around your home and provide a detailed written proposal.
